Bathroom renovation in Donostia-San Sebastián

A bathroom is renovated whole. And only once.

We change the layout, the plumbing, the electrics, the tiling and the sanitaryware, with an itemised quote and one person in charge on site. We work in Donostia, Irún and Navarra.

What the renovation includes

What you cannot see is what decides whether it lasts.

In a bathroom, half the work ends up behind the tiles. That is why the scope is closed before we start: which services are renewed, what is kept and what only shows up once it is opened.

01
Layout

Whether the position of the shower, the toilet and the basin stays or changes, and what that forces us to move.

02
Plumbing and electrics

Renewal of pipes and circuits, waste pipes and ventilation, with the bathroom opened up.

03
Waterproofing

Treatment of the wet area before tiling. That is what keeps the damp out of the neighbour’s flat.

04
Finishes and sanitaryware

Tiling, shower tray, screen, vanity unit and taps, chosen before the works start.

Shower and accessibility

Swapping the bath for a shower is a small job with rules of its own.

It can be done without renovating the whole bathroom: flush tray, waste, waterproofing and making good the tiling. If accessibility is also needed, it is resolved in the same job.

Before you decide

The price of a bathroom varies because of what you cannot see.

Two bathroom quotes can look very alike and not include the same thing. The difference is almost always under the tiles.

01
Services left out of the price

If the plumbing and the electrics are not included, the price drops and the job comes back in a few years.

02
Materials not yet chosen

A quote with generic tiling is not comparable with one that already has the material decided.

03
What shows up when it is opened

An old pipe or a floor slab in poor condition changes the scope. It is worth knowing how that change gets approved.

Clear responsibility

Five trades touch a bathroom. Coordinating them is the job.

Plumber, electrician, tiler, fitter and painter come in a specific order and in very few square metres. When nobody puts them in order, the job stretches out on its own.

01
A decided order

Each trade comes in when the previous one has finished, not when it happens to be free.

02
One person in charge on site

The same person coordinates, keeps you posted and answers for what was agreed.

03
Materials on time

What you chose is on site before it is needed, so nothing stops.

Every home and every association has its own conditions. The scope and the permits are confirmed at the visit.

FAQs

What is worth knowing beforehand.

Every town and every building can change the answer. For a specific case, call us and we will look at it.

Nearly always worth it, because a bathroom is only opened once. If the services are old, renewing them now costs a small part of the job; doing it later means lifting the new tiling.

Sometimes yes, if it is well bonded and the layout does not change. Bear in mind that the joint between old and new shows, and that a matching piece is not always available.

The scope of the services, the material chosen, whether the layout moves and whatever shows up once it is opened. That is why the quote is itemised and any surprises are approved before being carried out.

A bathroom that does not touch the structure or the facade is usually resolved with a prior notification. If shared services are moved, the association has a say. We check it at the visit and we handle it.

Not while it lasts. If it is the only one in the home, we talk it through at the visit and organise the works to cut down the days without it.

Yes. We work in Donostia, Irún and Navarra.
